About J.K. Auto Parts

1971

- John Koons, Sr., the founder of Koons Ford in Falls Church, Va. decided to venture into the aftermarket and looked to his Parts Manager, George Henard, to start the new company and manage it. J.K. Auto Parts started doing business from a 50’ X 50’ building on Washington Street in Falls Church with 3 employees and very few product lines other than Motorcraft and AC-Delco.

1974

- The company grew over the next few years despite two floods and the gas shortages of 1973, eventually outgrowing the 3 buildings where the inventory was housed. In 1974, J.K. Distributors relocated to our current location on Carlin Springs Rd. in Baileys Crossroads and the company continued to add store locations.

1982

- George Henard and Hubert N. (Jay) Hoffman, III purchased the businesses from the Koons Family. The warehouse operation started trading as “H & H Automotive Parts Warehouse”, while the auto parts stores retained the “J.K. Auto Parts” name that had earned a solid reputation for excellent customer service.

1990

- J.K. Distributors, Inc. joined forces with the All Pro Auto Parts marketing group which through two mergers is now known as the "Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance" consisting of the Bumper to Bumper, & Auto-Value groups. The “Alliance” continues to grow with 56 shareholder members and combined sales in excess of $5 Billion and is ranked as one of the top 5 marketing groups in the country.

Today

- J.K. Distributors, Inc. consists of 9 J.K. Auto Parts stores throughout Northern Virginia and our distribution center in Baileys Crossroads, VA., with combined annual sales of $42 million, employing 150 team members. We continue to look for opportunities to grow and improve our service to our customers.
